Scrapbook Peddler Relocates to Green Acres Plaza

For everything scrapbooking under one roof, go to Scrapbook Peddler, located at 4658 State St. in Saginaw (Green Acres Plaza on the corner of State St. and Hemmeter, next to the Country Sampler).

The store was originally located on Bay Rd. in the Best Buy plaza, next to the Secretary of State office, and after a couple of moves within the same plaza, owners Butch and Penny Shelton realized they needed more space, and eventually moved the store to the Green Acres Plaza location.

Penny began scrapbooking with her daughter, Tracy, while working for Ameritech, and after retiring, decided to open the Scrapbook Peddler about a year later in 2001. Tracy has been creating “Page of the Week” page kits once a week since the store opened 10 years ago. Penny works along with Angie Binder, who’s been there for about three years. Angie enjoys card-making, crafts, and other paper crafts.

In addition to a large selection of scrapbooking supplies, Scrapbook Peddler offers special classes and regular workshops. Every Friday night is “Friday Night Crops,” from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Bring your photos and scrapbook supplies, grab a friend and sign up. A $5.00 fee includes the use of their die cut machines, dies, and various other tools. Each month is FUN-Tastic Friday & Saturday with special prices and discounts.

The end of April brings many people in who are getting ready for school graduations, making graduation boards and tri-folds to display photos.

Can’t attend a scrapbooking 101 class, but want to learn how to scrapbook? Scrapbook Peddler offers one-on-one classes at the store for basic scrapbooking. The cost is $10.00 per hour with a minimum of two hours. Just call the store to schedule your session.

If you’re interested in making your own occasion cards, there’s “Make & Take,” Friday, March 4, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Saturday, March 5, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Sunday, March 6, from Noon to 5:00 p.m. The cost is $10.00 to make 10 cards, which includes envelopes. Kits are limited, so sign up in advance to ensure you have a kit.
