Morley Brothers hosted their 40th annual Mor-Girls and Mor-Gang reunion Monday, October 4, at the Horizons Conference Center. It was a special celebration, with reunion committee member, Earl Begg, highlighting memories and events over the last 40 years, and Louis Furlo, Sr., of Morley Companies, Inc., as a guest speaker.

Morley Brothers began in 1863 when Anton Schmitz opened a hardware store in Saginaw, with George and Edward Morley as partners. By 1892 it was the second largest hardware company in the U.S., employing more than 200 people.

In 1970, the first Mor-Girls reunion was conceived, strictly consisting of the women who worked in the retail office. It wasn’t until 1997 that men were included in the reunion, and the name ‘Mor-Gang’ was added. Morley Brothers has been hosting their annual Mor-Girls and Mor-Gang reunion on the first Monday in October at the Horizons Conference Center ever since.
