‘Old-School Video Games’ at Freeland’s homecoming

Freeland High School students are celebrating homecoming week with an “Old-School Video Games” theme, paying tribute to such games as Super Mario Brothers, Tetris, and Pac-man.

Monday is Beach day. Tuesday is class color day to coordinate with the girl’s powder puff game that evening. Wednesday is Concert T-shirt day, Thursday is Pattern day, with animal prints, plaid, paisley, and camouflage, and Friday, students will sport their school colors, green and white.

On Friday, Oct. 15, the Homecoming parade will begin at 5:30 p.m. at Freeland Elementary School and travel to the high school prior to the homecoming game that evening. The Falcons varsity football team will take on Ovid Elsie at the school at 7 p.m. The homecoming queen will be crowned during half-time. The homecoming dance will be the following evening, beginning at 8:45 p.m.

The 2010 Freeland homecoming court includes (l-r): freshman Jenna Nunamaker, freshman Kennedi Kasper, senior Erin Burke, senior Courtney Payk, senior Melodie Hazen, senior Samantha Payk, senior Kelcie Geese, sophomore Morgan Scott, sophomore Darby McCracken, junior Rachel Schafer, and junior Sarah Yancer.
