Mark Gibson, a local Eagle Scout and student at Freeland High School, will be hosting a bowl-a-thon for his Eagle Scout final project. He plans to use the money raised at the bowl-a-thon for local infants and children with health issues.

Gibson felt the Covenant Kids Fund aligned perfectly with what he wanted to accomplish and chose Covenant Kids as a recipient of his fundraiser. The Covenant Kids Fund, a fund held with the Covenant HealthCare Foundation, is dedicated to raising money to enhance programs and services to Covenant pediatric patients (any patient under the age of 17) and their families.

Last year, money raised helped purchase imaging equipment for the Regional Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, a rocking chair for the Pediatric Emergency Care Center, glucose monitors for young diabetic patients, and much more.

The bowl-a-thon will take place on Sunday, April 3, at State Lanes in Saginaw, from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. There will be a minimum donation of $5.00 per person, plus pledges, and $2.00 shoe rental.

Mark will be featured on the Covenant Kids Telethon on Saturday, April 16, between noon and 6:00 p.m. on WNEM TV5 to present Covenant Kids with the monies raised.
