Saginaw County Parks and Recreation held its annual “Catch Me if You Can” Fishing Festival, Saturday, June 4, at Haithco Recreation Area. This fun-filled fishing festival gave local families the chance to get out and spend some quality time together. Children ages 5 through 15, including groups from the Boys & Girls Club of Carrollton and the YMCA, participated in the tournament with the first 200 registered receiving a free gift. Trophies, lunch, and raffle prizes were offered as well.

Optimist International and Saginaw Bay Walleye Club, Inc. provided volunteers to help with measuring fish, cooking and serving food, and assisting with registration. Other sponsors for the event included Northeastern Paint, GFS, S.W.A.T. Charter Service, Doc Heinz Contracting Materials & Services, Covenant Healthcare, Martin Chevrolet, and Wobig Construction.
