In February of 1961, Ralph “Boots” Beyer opened Standard Oil on the corner of State St. and Passolt in Saginaw. In 1976 he added the Amoco station on State and Court until it closed in 1979. That same year he moved Standard Oil to 4865 Lawndale Rd. in Saginaw, changing the name to Beyer’s Service Center. Beyer’s Service Center is an independently owned and operated, third generation company with 101 years of combined experience. Following the family tradition, Ralph’s son Bob now owns the service center, working alongside his two sons, Rick and Steve, as well as his brother, Jim. Bob, Rick, and Steve are all ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) Certified Master Mechanics, while Jim is certified in engine repair, suspension & steering, brakes, electrical/electronic systems, heating & air conditioning, and engine performance.
