Bannans Home Electronics

Bannans Home Electronics

Bannans Home Electronics has been serving the Saginaw area since the 1950s, specializing in the sale and service of televisions and electronic equipment.

Owner Dave Russell bought the business in 1965 when it was located on Genesee and Webber in Saginaw. He then moved it to S. Jefferson where it stayed for about 10 years, until it moved to State and Center, and after 22 years there, Russell had to move once again to make room for the new Walgreens. Bannans is now located at 238 N. Center Rd., near the corner of Gratiot Rd. in Saginaw, where it’s been for the last 12 years.

Russell employs two inside technicians and one outside service person. Bannans sells and services most brands of televisions and home electronic equipment, such as Panasonic, Pioneer, and Toshiba. Poloroid, Magnavox, Visio, and Emerson are a few of the brands that are most frequently brought in for servicing. According to Russell, Panasonic is the best value for televisions, and a better product. It is the most reliable television he’s ever sold over the last 30 years.

With the economy affecting everyone, Bannans, which is known mostly for their service, is holding their own until things improve. “One of the biggest problems has been the transition from analog to digital,” Russell said. “Most people just go digital, rather than repair their old analog sets.”

Located at 238 N. Center Rd. (next to Tony’s), Bannans offers a welcome atmosphere, friendly service, and years of experience for all your home electronic needs. Business hours are: 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. For more information, call 799-7885.
